What a Berwick timber pest inspection covers
Inspect and report under AS 4349.3, and the limits that come with it.
In short: A timber pest inspection is a visual look at accessible areas. Knowing its limits helps you read the report.
What is looked at
Accessible timbers inside, outside, in the roof space and subfloor, plus fences, sheds and garden structures.
Tools used
Moisture meter, sounding and a thermal camera to point to areas that need a closer look.
What is not possible
Timber inside walls, under fixed floors or behind stored goods cannot be seen without opening up.
Conducive conditions
Much of the value is in the list of conditions that make an attack more likely, so you can fix them.
Borers and decay
Timber pests include borers and fungal decay as well as termites. We report signs of all three.
